This is our low cost 2-inch by 2-inch slide scanning solution. We've removed some of the services that are included in our Premium Slide Scanning Service. Warning: The image quality is not as good as our Premium Slide Scanning Service (see examples below). Also, over-exposed photos (photos that look too light) will not look good. If you have old slides that have faded or changed color to mainly red, green or blue, the scanner color correction will not work well.
Digitizing Service + USB Flash Drive or DVD + Return S&H + Tax (in Michigan) = Total Price (no surprise costs)
Here is how our No-Frills Slide Scanning Service works:
Only 2-inch by 2-inch mount slides. Read about Mount size HERE.
Adobe® Photoshop® will not be used for color correcting, brightness or contrast.
We will use the scanner's auto-color correcting, auto-brightness and auto-contrast (this is how a lot of other companies do it).
Whatever the scanner puts out is what you get. If you don't like the scanner's corrections, you can order our Premium Slide Scanning Service and get it scanned again (we need to scan the slide again without the scanner's corrections so that we can use Photoshop® to correct the image).
No red-eye correction.
No slide groups less than 24 slides (smaller groups will be grouped together).
No custom labeled folders (groups). All slide groups/folders will have the same generic name "Slide-Group" followed by a number (Slide-Group-001, Slide-Group-002, Slide-Group-003, etc.). If it hasn't already been done, we will label each group with the group number for you. You can easily rename each folder later.
If there are different film formats in a group, each film format will be scanned together in that group.
TIFF image files are not available.
For each slide, you will receive the corrected JPEG digital image file only.
We will determine the Front of the slide so the scanned digital image is facing the proper direction.
We will determine the proper orientation of the slide and rotate the scanned digital image so that the correct side is up.
We will clean loose dust, hair, fibers, etc. off both sides of each individual slide (there's more there than you probably think).
We will scan the slides in the sorted order you provide (other than if there are different film formats).
We will keep the slides sorted in the order they were scanned.
We will crop each image as needed.

How does the order process work?
Below are Scanner Auto-Corrected and Photoshop® Corrected Comparison Images
These slides were in great condition. Depending on the condition of your slides, the images will probably look worse.
If you have old slides that have faded or changed color to mainly red, green or blue, the scanner color correction will not work well.

The photo above is supposed to be red. The scanner's color correction software "thought" the red needed to be removed. This is one advantage of having a real person using Photoshop® to color correct images.
